Department of Information Engineering - DEI
The teaching and research activities of the Department mainly concern the area of Information Engineering, which includes the following disciplines: bioengineering, electronics, computer science, applied optics, operations research, telecommunications and systems and control theory.
The Department coordinates 9 bachelor's and master's degree courses and a PhD school, offering students 15 laboratories (housing over 150 workstations), Wi-Fi connection in the facilities and an open-shelf library. The professors and researchers (about 100 people plus 150 PhD students, post-PhD fellows and research collaborators) work in about 50 research groups and 45 laboratories, boasting a very high number of publications and collaborations with research institutions and companies all over the world. The Department's lecturer includes 6 IEEE Fellows.
