Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World - DISSGeA
The Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World carries out research and teaching activities that are projected from the reigns of the third millennium BC. C. and from Greek and Latin civilizations to the contemporary world, focusing on the following areas: history of political, social and religious institutions and movements in the Mediterranean, European and world context; history of culture; global history; history of Venice and the Veneto region; history and geography of territories and economic systems; History, enhancement and management of industrial heritage.
It hosts inter-university centres and cooperates with Italian and foreign universities in an action-research perspective (Erasmus Mundus Master and post-graduate) and direct connection between research and higher education (Higher School of Historical, Geographical and Anthropological Sciences).
