Erasmus + Short mobility PhD | Università di Padova

Who can apply

The “Short mobility for PHD students” programme is aimed at all regularly enrolled PhD students of the University of Padua; thanks to the Erasmus+ Programme, they have the possibility of perform periods of physical mobility abroad, even of short mobility. It is always allowed to add a virtual component.

Deadlines and mobility periods

Online applications must be submitted in the periods below:

2nd Call: KA 131 from 15 october 2024 to 12 november 2024 at 1.00 pm CET (mobility period
from 1 january 2025 to 31 july 2025);
Call: KA171 2022 and KA171 2024 from 15 october 2024 to 12 november 2024 at 1.00 pm CET (mobility period from 1 january 2025 to 31 july 2025);

Physical mobility must be between 5 and 30 days and adding a virtual component is always possible.

Online applications must be submitted in the periods below:

It is not allow to partecipate in conferences/congresses as speaker

The participant will always have to act as a learner (not as a teacher / trainer).

Pay attention: educational activities can be combined with a period of research, but not teaching or dissemination.

Incompatibilities

Erasmus mobility grants are not compatible with other European funding schemes , such as PNRR grants, PON/ERC projects and other EU grants.
Successful students will still be able to participate in the programme as Zero Grant participants.
Erasmus+ mobility cannot take place at the same time as other international mobilities, whether physical or virtual.
PhD students in joint supervision will be able to access this opportunity only if their administrative headquarters is the University of Padua.

Successful students will still be able to participate in the programme as Zero Grant participants.

Erasmus+ mobility cannot take place at the same time as other international mobilities, whether physical or virtual.

PhD students in joint supervision will be able to access this opportunity only if their administrative headquarters is the University of Padua.

How to apply

Applications form must be completed and submitted exclusively online, by logging into the Uniweb account, selecting ‘International Mobility > Outgoing International Mobility’ from the menu on the left and choosing ‘Exchange Programmes’, then “PHD Short”.

The application form must be accompanied by the following documents (in PDF format only)

Program of activities to be carried out abroad (courses, seminars, research project, etc.);
Letter of support from the supervisor at the University of Padua;
Acceptance Letter from the host institution;
CV in English;
Language certificate proving proficiency in the language of the host country and/or in the language of instruction of the host institution.

Please note: the Learning Agreement is an optional attachment for KA131 and it must not be submitted for KA171.

It is possible to apply and participate in one mobility per call: one per Programme (KA131 and KA171) and one for each year of funding (call 2022 and call 2024).

A PhD student will be able to undertake up to 3 mobilities in the period between January and July 2025:

one in Europe (Erasmus+ KA131 call)
two outside Europe (Erasmus+ KA171 call 2022 and Erasmus+ KA171 call 2024)

Mobility periods cannot overlap.

Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Relevance of mobility for the PhD programme;
Quality of the project and objectives;
Joint activities or activities of particular relevance for the University of Padua;
Collaborations promoted within the Arqus Alliance (in case of Erasmus+ 131 only)

Recognition of credits

All participants will be required to complete a Learning Agreement, in which they will indicate the study programme and learning outcomes.

In addition to the title of the activity, they will also need to specify the type of activity and provide a description for any virtual component.

The recognition of activities carried out abroad will be at the discretion of the PhD programme, which will provide further information to the selected PhD students.
