Department of Physics and Astronomy "Galileo Galilei" - DFA
The Department's mission ranges from teaching to the most advanced research. The centuries-old tradition that began with Copernicus and Galileo continues to this day, with involvement in research projects at the highest level of international competitiveness in fundamental physics, applied physics and astronomy. The Department is one of the most important research centers in Italy.
The Department hosts a section of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and a unit of the National Interuniversity Consortium for Physical Sciences of Matter (CNISM), and collaborates with the Astronomical Observatory of Padova of the Italian Institute of Astrophysics (INAF). In collaboration with INAF, the Department manages the Asiago Astrophysical Observatory, where a variety of instruments are available for student research and training.
