Basic Course and New Faculty (T4L1)
The T4L Basic and New Faculty (T4L1) course is divided into specific meetings for a total of 24 hours:
- 4 afternoon hours in presence at CLA (Via Venezia, 16, Padua)
- 4 afternoon hours: online synchronous on Zoom (eng version) or in-presence (ita version)
- 8 + 4 hours in detached location
- 4 hours of asynchronous self-training in Moodle to be completed over two weeks
They are in English or Italian and are scheduled throughout the current academic year.
It is recommended that you enroll in the course in English if your language proficiency level is advanced.
Course content:
- analysis and reflection on one's teaching and learning perspectives
- theoretical perspective of Active Learning
- Active Learning teaching strategies to promote student engagement
- professor-student relationship
- micro-design of lessons using participatory methods
- feedback (between teachers; between students/students and teachers) and evaluation of learning
- micro-lesson design (microteaching)
- integration of technologies in teaching
- video-lesson through different video and audio formats
- management of Moodle space for synchronous and asynchronous communication, as well as for assessment and self-assessment
Who is it addressed to?
Full and associate professors and professors, permanent researchers, RTDAs, RTDBs at the University of Padua.
Please note that the New Faculty and Basic course is mandatory for RTDA and RTDB researchers hired on or after September 1, 2022 and must be taken within 18 months from the date of hire.
Follow-up
At 6 months after the conclusion of the T4L1 course, an afternoon of discussion (follow-up) is scheduled to share the experience and the implementation in one's teaching of what was learned during the T4L course.
Open Badge
At the end of the course, the T4L1 Open Badge is issued.
