The Teaching4Learning (T4L) project

Teaching4Learning @ Unipd represents a real plan for the development of teaching and e-learning skills of teachers at the University of Padua and is a concrete example of a transformative model in the university environment.

Among the first in the Italian panorama, T4L is the result of an ongoing research path carried out in the field of didactics in higher education and in international research groups, oriented to promote the development of a didactic culture inspired by active learning and learner centred, as well as the building of a community of continuous learning faculty who voluntarily become passionate about innovative didactics and become part of a faculty learning community.

This program responds to the recommendations of the European Commission (2011; 2013), which encourages university faculty to experiment with new student-centered teaching and learning strategies, promoting the de-privatization of teaching and the development of faculty learning communities capable of reflecting on their own teaching practices and specific key issues.

  Main objectives

  • Encourage the development of deep awareness with respect to assumptions and values related to teaching and learning;
  • provide opportunities to learn new teaching strategies and methodologies to engage students and learners, encouraging active and informed participation in teaching activities;
  • create a Community place of exchange in which to share teaching considerations and experiences among colleagues (toward a slow de-privatization of their teaching);
  • offer the opportunity for Peer Observation: observing each other among peers during the course of classroom teaching and to provide and receive constructive feedback;
  • learn educational coaching practices to come alongside colleagues in their teaching to develop effective practices to foster learning.

  Report T4L

The T4L Report describes the evolution of the birth of the Teaching4Learning Project and the training path that has developed over time, showing how much the experimentation that began in 2016 has become permeant of Unipd's teaching culture in just 5 years.

It also makes it possible to become aware of what has been achieved, to assess the impacts of the important investments made, and to reinvigorate the developments to come.
