Alessandro Aliprandi is Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Sciences.

He completed his Master degree in Chemistry (2010, 110 cum laude, supervisor: prof. Carlo Alberto Bignozzi) at the University of Ferrara. He obtained the PhD in Chemistry in 2015 at the Institut de Science et d’Ingénierie Supramoléculaires (Strasbourg, France) under the supervision of Prof. Luisa De Cola studying the self-assembly of luminescent Pt(II) complexes. Then, Alessandro joined the group of Prof. Paolo Samorì at the same institute, where he studied 2D materials for (opto)electronic applications. In 2018 he was appointed Ingénieur De Recherche (CNRS) in the group of Prof. Luisa De Cola. In 2020 he received an ERC Starting Grant (BioPoweredCL Bright and biologically powered chemiluminescent labels for cell and tissue imaging). In 2021, he moved to the University of Padova to start his own research group. Since the beginning of his career, - Alessandro has been fascinated by light and his research activities focus on luminescent molecules not only for bioanalytical applications such as electrochemiluminescence, but also to “see” in real-time complex process such as molecular self-assembly.
