Unipd Summer

For summer 2022, lectures are suspended between August 1 and August 15, while recovery exams sessions take place between August 22 and September 24. 

All University offices of the central administration, the general switchboard (049.827.5111), the call centre (049.827.3131) and the URP are closed from August 11 to August 21, 2022.

Please see each study room hours as they each observe different closing times. University departments, libraries, other decentralized offices will post opening and closing hours on their respective websites.

The University Botanical Garden continues to welcome visitors during the summer. Enjoy a day in the green arboretum, immerse yourself in the greenhouses of the Biodiversity Garden, take a stroll through the ancient garden or participate in the many scheduled initiatives.

The free weekend opening of Unipd museums continues throughout the summer: every Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there is free access to the Geography Museum, the "Enrico Bernardi" Machine Museum, the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, and the Giovanni Poleni Museum.

Guided tours, workshops and openings on other days of the week are suspended on these dates:

MUSEUM OF GEOGRAPHY: Aug. 1-31
MUSEUM OF MACHINERY "ENRICO BERNARDI": from Aug. 1 to 31
MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND ART: Aug. 1 to 31
GIOVANNI POLENI MUSEUM: Aug. 6 to 21

Guided tours of Palazzo Bo also continue by proposing both the "historical tour" and the "Gio Ponti/XX century tour" of the Palazzo. The Booking Center (049 827 3939; 9: 00-17: 00) and the ticket office at Palazzo Bo (9: 00-18: 00) remain open.

There are many opportunities to visit, experiment and be amazed at the Asiago Astrophysical Observatory. Located in Pennar, the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padua hosts the most important observatory centre of optical astronomy in Italy. Enjoy observations of the sun, comets, and planets, participate in Astrotombola games and Astrorazzi events (events calendar).

The UNIPD Store in Palazzo Bo is closed between August 8 and 21,  but you can also shop online! Orders will be on August 22. While the UNIPD Shop of the Botanical Garden remains open.

This Summer, you can make the Grand Tour of the Sciences taking advantage of a single ticket, visiting the Palazzo del Bo, with its Anatomical Theatre and the podium used by Galileo; the oldest university Botanical Garden in the world, a Unesco heritage site; the Hall of the Giants with its majestic cycle of frescoes; the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, and the Palazzo Liviano, designed by Gio Ponti; the first Geography Museum in Italy; the “Giovanni Poleni” Museum of Physics history with its priceless scientific instruments; the “Enrico Bernardi” Museum of Machines, housing the first Italian motor car; and the historic garden of the Villa Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso), past winner of the ‘Most Beautiful Italian Park’ award.
