“I wish to express to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire University of Padua, a message of deep closeness and solidarity.
We are following with great attention and concern what is happening in Iran. We can imagine how these events may cause worry, distress, and pain, especially when they directly involve places, stories, and people to whom one is deeply connected.”

With these words, the Rector of the University of Padua, Daniela Mapelli, expressed, on her own behalf and on behalf of the Unipd community, a message of profound closeness and solidarity to Iranian students.

“The University of Padua is a community founded on values that have guided its actions for over eight centuries: the centrality of the individual, respect for human dignity, freedom of thought and expression, and responsibility towards others. These values are not abstract, but find their true meaning in our ability to recognize ourselves, especially in the most difficult moments, as a supportive and caring community,” the Rector concluded.
“I therefore want you to know that you are not alone. The University stands by you, with respect and participation, as you are an integral part of our academic community.”
