Unipd’s excellent standing in the US news Best Global Universities Ranking

The American newspaper US News & World Report published the 2022 edition of the Best Global Universities Rankings, citing the University of Padua in 119th place among all universities, and reconfirming it in 2nd place among all Italian universities.
Thirteen indicators were used to calculate the University of Padua's overall Best Global Universities ranking relative to other schools under the same indicator. Unipd received its best ranking in productivity and research impact, noting its top 100-university ranking worldwide in Publications, Total citations, and Number of publications included in 10% of the most cited.
The newspaper also ranks each university by subject. Here, the University of Padua receives its best results in Space Science, reaching 17th place worldwide. Other top accolades include its global ranking in; Agricultural Sciences 81st place, Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems 64th place, Cell Biology 69th place, Economics and Business 99th place, Electrical and Electronic Engineering 40th place, Environment/Ecology 67th place, Gastroenterology and Hepatology 50th place, Immunology 99th place, Mechanical Engineering 80th place, Physics 81st place, Plant and Animal Science 69th place, Psychiatry/Psychology 84th place, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging 74th place, and Surgery 96th place.
The US News Best Global Universities Rankings surveyed 1,750 universities in over 90 countries - with special emphasis in the United States, based on 13 indicators that measure academic research performance and global and regional reputation.
