UNIfest: Unipd brings science and art to Giardini dell'Arena

Thanks to the Department of Biology, UNIFest brings science and art to Padua’s Giardini dell'Arena, reinforcing the bond between the University and its city.
Events on 6, 15, and 19 of July and on 20, 21, 27, and 30 of September are hosted at Giardini dell’Arena by Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Natural Sciences, Economics, Chemistry, and Industrial Chemistry students. Welcoming the residents of Padua, events include the outdoor graduation ceremony for the newly graduating doctoral students of the departments of Biology, Chemical Sciences, and Economics and Management ‘Marco Fanno’.
UNIfest is also an opportunity to share and discuss science as the Department of Biology organizes various scientific dissemination events for the public.
Events on Saturday 15 July welcome the physicist and philosopher Gaia Contu who shares her talk on "Tacchini e raggi di luce: storie di incroci fra scienza e filosofia”.
On 19 July, the evolutionary biologist Giacomo Moro Mauretto of Unipd, will share his Entropy for Life talk by answering the question "Perché fidarsi della scienza?”
On 20 September, the journalists Alberto Agliotti and Francesco Giorda of GiovedìScienza, will present the quiz show "Stand Up for Science - Ma cosa ti dice la testa?”
On 21 September the Ruzzante University theater company will stage a performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
On 27 September the classical orchestra of the Concentus Musicus Patavinusof the University of Padua offers a musical performance.
Two events are held on 30 September. The first welcomes the professor and researcher in the Department of Biology, Graziano Martello, along with the actor Filippo Fossa to perform "Il contrario di un’idea” at 7 pm. Followed by a musical performance from the Big Band orchestra Concentus Musicus Patavinus that will bring jazz to the stage.
Admission to all events is free, reservations are not required.
Due to any inclement weather conditions on the 15th and 19th of July and on the 20th and 30th of September events will be held at Palazzo della Salute (via San Francesco 90).
