Teaching, Services and Special Initiatives at the University during the Holiday Season

From Friday 23 December 2022 to Saturday 7 January 2023, the University suspends all educational activities but many events are scheduled.

All University Administration Offices, General Switchboard (049.827.5111), Call Center (049.827.3131) and URP are closed from 24 December 2022 to 8 January 2023.

University Libraries and Library Systems will observe various changes in opening hours and closures. University study rooms will observe various changes in opening hours and closures.

University Museums and other University sites participating in the Grand Tour of the Sciences remain open to the public during the holiday season (Palazzo Bo, Sala dei Giganti, and Botanical Garden etc.). Visitors can access the Geography Museum, the Enrico Bernardi Museum of Machines, the Giovanni Poleni Museum, the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, and others that remain open from 26 to 30 December and again from 2 to 8 January.

Palazzo Bo continues to offer guided tours, including its 20th century by Gio Ponti tour and other services throughout the holiday season. Palazzo Bo and its ticket office (tel. 049 827 3939 from 9 am to 5 pm) remain open from 26 December to 8 January (closed on 24-25-31 December and 1 January)

The University of Padua’s Botanical Garden holiday festivities begins on 8 December with free guided tours (included in the admission ticket) held by expert guides throughout the season. The Botanical Garden continues to host several exhibitions throughout the holidays, including Il libro di Padova exhibition which displays a selection of pictures by Vincenzo Castella, and three installations by Edoardo Landi which are part of the L'Occhio in Gioco exhibition (included in the admission ticket). The Botanical Garden adheres to slight variations in opening hours before its annual winter closure from 9 January to 7 February 2023.

The UniPD Store in Palazzo Bo remains open every day from 9 am to 6 pm (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays included) until 23 December 2022, while shoppers enjoy 20% off all UniPD merchandise in-store and online at https://www.unipdstore.it. The Palazzo Bo location will close to the public from 24 December to 9 January 2023, while the shop located in the Botanical Garden follows the same opening hours and days as the Garden.

As a Christmas gift, Unipd suggests you contribute to restore the forests of Asiago throught the Bosco 800 Project. You can donate a tree. It costs 10 euros to replant a single tree, and thanks to your support, we can restore this area to its original natural beauty and splendour.

The Municipality of Padua offers free entry to Palazzo della Ragione, Palazzo Zuckermann, the Eremitani Museum and the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Contemporary Age to all UniPD students (including Erasmus and international exchange students) as well as all those residing in Padua and its province from 8 December to 8 January.
