No borders - the 2024 M'illumino di meno Campaign

13.02.2024

As part of the UniPadova Sostenibile actions, the University of Padua once again participates in the annual M'illumino di meno Campaign, promoted by Caterpillar and Rai Radio 2. The initiative is schedules for 16 February 2024 as part of the Italian National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles.

Along with hundreds of monuments and buildings throughout Italy, the lights illuminating the historic Palazzo Bo and the University’s Central Administrative building Palazzo Storione will shut off at 6:00 pm.

Additionally, other important buildings in Padua will participate by shutting off the lights of Palazzo Moroni, Palazzo del Capitanio, Piazza dei Frutti, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori, Via VIII Difesa, Piazzetta Pedrocchi, Piazzetta Garzeria, Prato della Valle, and La Specola. Celebrating the Italian National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, La Specola Museum will offer a special evening event.

The 2024 M'illumino di meno Campaign aims to delve deeper into the idea of No Borders, which reflects the need to forge alliances and generate unions beyond borders. The University of Padua has accepted this idea by proposing foreign partner universities to unite by turning off the lights in their offices.

You too can take part in the campaign by tagging the Instagram page @unipadovasostenibile as a means to bring your own light and visibility to the contribution of the university community.
