15.03.2021

Ranked 98th in the world: the University Hospital of Padua "Azienda Ospedale - Università Padova" is among 100 of the "World's Best Hospitals" according to the US magazine Newsweek in collaboration with the global data research company Statista Inc. The ranking includes 2000 hospitals across 25 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Canada, each distinguished by their consistent excellence, distinguished physicians, first-rate nursing care and cutting-edge technology. These results recognize Padua for the excellence of a complex structure that works together under a mixed system such as the Italian health and university systems.

American hospitals hold the top three positions: Mayo Clinic of Rochester Minnesota, Cleveland Clinic of Ohio, and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. First listed European hospital goes to sixth placed Germany with Charité - Universitätsmedizin of Berlin. The University Hospital of Padua ranks seventh in Italy, scoring 82.01%, while the Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli of Rome ranks number one in Italy.

The Global Editor-in-Chief, Nancy Cooper states, "As the events of 2020 made clear, our lives and those of our loved ones may rest on the kind of health care we have access to".
