David Quammen "The evolution of a pandemic"

On Tuesday March 30th 2021, David Quammen will give a seminar entitled The evolution of a pandemic.

The famous science writer, author of “Spillover”, will dialogue with Prof. Luigi Bubacco, Prof. Telmo Pievani and the audience.

After literary studies, David Quammen became one of the most important science writers worldwide (National Geographic, The New Yorker), and became recently very famous due to fact that he is the author of “Spillover”, 2012, where he predicted zoonoses like Covid-19. Other acclaimed books by Quammen are: “The Flight of the Iguana”, “The Song of the Dodo: Island Biogeography in an Age of Extinctions”, “The Boilerplate Rhino”, “Monster of God”, “The Reluctant Mr. Darwin: An Intimate Portrait of Charles Darwin and the Making of His Theory of Evolution”, “The Chimp and the River: How AIDS Emerged from an African Forest”. The latest, “The Tangled Tree: A Radical New History of Life”, is a fascinating story of the discoveries about lateral gene transfer and endosymbiosis. Now he is writing the sequel of “Spillover”.
