Celebrating Italy’s Liberation Day on 25 April

In observation of Italy’s Liberation against Nazi Fascism, the University suspends all its administrative and educational activities on Monday 24 April and Tuesday 25 April, while several study rooms remain open.

From Saturday 22 April to Tuesday 25 Aprilguided tours of Palazzo Bo remain in operation. In addition to the Palazzo Bo – Giro storico and the Palazzo Bo e il ‘900 di Gio Ponti tours, visitors can view rooms of the Rectorate, the Ancient Archive, and the Basilica.

Throughout the long weekend, activities of University Museums and those of the Grand Tour of the Sciences remain open to the public.

With activities open to the public on Monday and Tuesday, the Botanical Garden also celebrates Earth Day on Saturday, 22 April.  Transforming the front lawns of the greenhouses, the sixteenth-century Garden sets the stage for an original musical performance and the Sonus Horti interactive sound installation. Also on Saturday, the Sala dei Giganti welcomes Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O’Rourke for their debut concert in Italy.

Runners representing the University of Padua will participate in the 2023 Padova Marathon on Sunday 23 April.
