The 2024 Festival di Salute: Prendiamoci la vita

Organized by Gruppo Gedi, the 5th edition of Festival di Salute arrives in the city of Padua for the first time from 24 to 26 October thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Padua, the University of Padua, the Chamber of Commerce, the Cariparo Foundation, and VENICEPROMEX. The festival offers a program full of meetings, debates, interviews, readings, and shows.
Entitled Prendiamoci la vita, the festival aims to promote feeling well and living life to the fullest.
Structured along paths that ensure a healthy life, the festival uncovers preventative care methods, early diagnosis, and effective therapies for pathologies that we may encounter within our lifetime.
Sharing medical-scientific research, vaccine options, prevention, proper nutrition, physical activity, active ageing, the fight against tumours, healthcare rights, and mental health awareness in youth.
Over 120 speakers take turns on the stage. From Nobel Prize laureates, scientists, doctors, journalists, politicians, industrial leaders, sport icons, to those from popular culture and entertainment. Padua welcomes, Gianrico Carofiglio, Gino Cecchettin, Andrea Crisanti, the 2023 Nobel Prize winner for Medicine Katalin Karikó, the 2019 Nobel Prize winner for Physics Michel Mayor, the 2014 Nobel Prize winner for Medicine John O'Keefe, sculptor Michelangelo Pistoletto, and astronaut Walter Villadei.
The 2024 edition carries visitors from Villaggio della prevenzione and along the listòn of via VIII Febbraio, to participate in screening tests such as lipid tests and spirometric tests. Participants receive free consultations, such as dermatological counseling on how to combat overweight and obesity.
The festival also includes several performances in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Bo, at Palazzo della Ragione, and at Teatro Verdi. Among them include a performance written by Marco Paolini entitled I mitocondri e la polenta da mia nonna a Lynn Margulis and a talk by UniPd philosopher Telmo Pievani at the Teatro Verdi with NOMADIC. Canto per la biografia, followed by Marco Malvaldi, Stefano Mancuso and Vittorio Lingiardi.
Events of the 2024 Festival of Salute are held across the historic center of Padua, online, and then on demand on the websites of Repubblica, Stampa, and Huffing Post Italia.
