Universa universis patavina libertas is the motto that has always characterised the University of Padua: the spirit of freedom, in all its modern forms, lies at the heart of our identity and has belonged to us since 1222, the year of its foundation.
Freedom means inclusion, sustainability, and the defence of universal rights and values.
We are a public university that brings together research, education and social commitment, promoting inclusion, critical thinking and development for the community.
We are committed to pursuing with passion and dedication three fundamental missions: teaching, research and social impact.
Strategic and operational planning describes how we define our priorities and organise activities to achieve our development, teaching, research and third mission objectives. It uses functional tools to define objectives, policies and actions, we draw up useful policy documents, and adopt digital transformation plans. We have a Quality Assurance System.

We look to the future with an ambitious vision, carrying forward major works and renovation, transformation, expansion and restoration projects: eco-sustainable designs and the integration of advanced digital technologies, capable of reducing environmental impact and making processes more efficient.

The Statute contains the general principles governing the organisation and functioning of the University, constituting the fullest expression of its autonomy, in compliance with the Constitution and the law. The regulations are administrative acts that comprehensively govern specific aspects of the University’s activities, in compliance with the law and the Statute.
Unipd Store, the shops of the University of Padua, were conceived and created to promote and share with students, staff, visitors, also through tools other than those used strictly for teaching, the history and traditions that have made the University of Padua internationally renowned.
Like every Italian public administration, we are required to publish data, information and documents about our organisation, activities and decisions in order to promote widespread public scrutiny, prevent corruption and foster integrity
