With over 70,000 students, 2,200 professors, over 2,400 staff members, more than 13,000 graduates every year, 5,000 scholarships provided, 32 departments, over 2 million books available in 29 libraries, and an excellent and constantly changing degree courses, the University of Padua has long been positioned at the highest levels in the rankings of the main national and international rankings for the quality of teaching, of research and services.
Professor of the Department of General Psychology, she graduated in Experimental Psychology in Padua in 1991 and subsequently obtained the title of PhD in Experimental Psychology.
For the past six years, Mapelli was Vice-Rector for Teaching.
The Director General is responsible, on the basis of the guidelines defined by the Board of Directors, for the overall organization and management of services, instrumental resources and technical and administrative staff
The Departments represent the internal articulations of the University, which enjoy their own managerial autonomy. They are responsible for carrying out scientific research, teaching and training activities, and activities aimed at the outside world.
The schools have the functions of coordinating and rationalizing educational activities, including the proposal for the establishment, activation, modification, deactivation or suppression of courses of study, and the management of common services.
In the organization of the University there are also centers, created to carry out activities common to several structures, both of a scientific nature and aimed at the provision of services.
The School offers courses of excellence in the classes of Natural Sciences, Moral Sciences and Social Sciences, open to students selected with a rigorous admission test. Those who pass the selection will have to maintain an excellent average throughout the course of study, but will receive free room and board as well as financial contributions, will be able to benefit from seminars and supplementary courses, and much more.
