
Director General
The Director General is responsible for the overall organisation and management of services and resources of the technical-administrative staff based on the strategic guidelines defined by the board of directors. The Director General was selected among a number of highly qualified candidates, each holding several years of experience in managerial roles.

As an expert in business process re-engineering and organizational systems, Scuttari has deep knowledge of the Italian and European university systems. Venetian by origin, Scuttari was formally educated in Padua and Milan. The following is a profile summary of Alberto Scuttari, General Director of the University of Padua.
Since September 2020 he has been the Director of CoDAU, the national association of directors general of university administrations.
He is a member of the ANVUR Advisory Committee and of the CINECA Consortium Council. He is also a member of the Joint Committee for Housing and Residences for University Students, established by the Ministry of University and Research at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A., and the position of Vice President of the UNISMART Foundation.
His course track includes a degree, obtained in 1992 at the University of Padova, in Electrical Engineering, specialization in organizational economics. A career of studies that then continued at the University of Padua, where he is still an expert in the subject, with a PhD.
The first phase of Alberto Scuttari's career took place with corporate administration and international project management positions, in the private sector. He then went to the School of Business Management at Bocconi University for the achievement of the executive master of business administration and a second career aimed at the management of the Public Administration, especially in the academic field, also with teaching positions at the CRUI Foundation and the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano.
Among the most important positions held are, from 2010 to 2016, the role of general manager of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and, from 1999 to 2010, that of general director of the ESU of Padova. Also in the university field, he was secretary general of ANDISU (National Association of Bodies for the Right to University Education) and member of the National Observatory for the Right to University Education, at the Ministry of Education.
He is the author of numerous publications, including in the field of public procurement and sustainability.
He is fluent in English and holds the position of chairman of professional paths at the HUMANE association, which brings together managers of European universities.
