Projects for the university city
Today the University looks to the future with an ambitious vision, carrying out major works and renovation, transformation, expansion and restoration interventions, alongside construction sites already in progress. A growth that is based on eco-sustainable designs, low land consumption, and the integration of advanced digital technologies, capable of reducing environmental impact and making processes more efficient.
The result: buildings that are increasingly resilient, intelligent and ready to meet the needs of tomorrow.

The former Piave barracks acquires new appearance with an intervention aimed at creating a university campus. A historic space of 51,000 square meters, interpreted by the creativity of a great architect, David Chipperfield, is transformed into a place dedicated to young people and citizens, which can only be traveled on foot or by bike.
The project, winner of an international competition for design ideas, recovers most of the existing buildings, making them enter fluidly into dialogue with large green areas.

The former Storione hotel, located in front of the Palazzo Bo and purchased by the University of Padua in 2024, will be the University's study and office campus and will accommodate about 300 people. The building, designed in its reconstruction of the sixties by the Milanese architect and designer Gio Ponti, consists of six floors above ground and two underground floors, for a total gross area of 9,370 square meters

The restoration project of the former "San Giorgio" complex in Padua will transform the building into new spaces for the University by 2028, with study, seminar and office areas. The intervention will enhance the historical heritage by integrating it with criteria of sustainability, accessibility and efficiency. The internal courtyard will become a public urban garden dedicated to meeting and social regeneration

The historic complex "Lina Meneghetti" in Padua will be redeveloped by 2028 and transformed into a university residence with 85 beds. The project integrates architecture from different eras, enhancing the historical heritage through respectful interventions and contemporary housing solutions, with new common spaces and the redevelopment of the internal garden

The 'Cube' Gradenigo project involves the construction of a new multifunctional university building in the area between Via Gradenigo and Via Ognissanti, born from the need to create new functional spaces in dialogue with the existing buildings and with the protected pre-existence of the "Palazzetto Costruzioni Marittime".

The recovery of the Liviano Complex combines the value of Gio Ponti's architecture with the needs of contemporary university life, through a conservative restoration attentive to sustainability, accessibility and innovation. The spaces will host the DiSSGeA and Cultural Heritage Departments.

The project is based on the principle of transparency, with the aim of opening the complex to the city and enhancing hidden green spaces, creating a direct connection between the academic environment and the urban fabric. The redevelopment of the former Carlo Ederle college is guided by sustainability criteria and uses natural materials and efficient energy solutions, to transform the complex into a modern environment oriented towards the well-being of the university community.
