Mission and vision
We are committed to pursuing with passion and dedication three fundamental missions: teaching, research and social impact. These are accompanied by other strategic priorities such as internationalisation, the enhancement of people and resources, and environmental sustainability.
This is a place where tradition meets innovation, creating a stimulating and inclusive environment for the student community, researchers, academic staff and professional staff. Our vision is to be a beacon of knowledge and progress, where every individual can express their potential and contribute to building a better future.

Our primary objective is education and teaching of the highest standard. Our teaching is designed to be high-quality, innovative and transdisciplinary, aiming at the holistic development of the individual and the acquisition of the skills needed to meet the changing demands of the world of work, which is increasingly complex and international. We firmly believe in the right to education and promote policies that guarantee equal opportunities for access to the University for all students, with particular attention to individual differences linked to situations of socioeconomic disadvantage, cultural differences and disabilities.

Unipd is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in research across many disciplines. Although we have been at the top nationally for years, we aim to progress further so as to compete with the best European universities, and to achieve this we are committed to retaining and valuing our best talent. We constantly invest in the development of robust research infrastructure and spaces, so that our researchers can focus on discovery, innovation and the advancement of knowledge.
Social impact. Third mission and transformation
Our third mission focuses on the development and implementation of policies, projects and actions that foster the transfer of knowledge, with a significant cultural, economic and educational impact on society. We work closely with local, regional, national and international institutions to promote the wellbeing and development of the local area. Our commitment includes the promotion of health and the delivery of lifelong learning pathways that enable the enhancement and updating of personal skills.
We disseminate knowledge through a range of coordinated initiatives, opening our doors to collaboration with the local area. We actively promote projects aimed at building a knowledge- and innovation-based society, and we support the commercialisation of research products through innovative approaches, involving startups and spin-off.

We have a clear understanding of our strategic priorities.
Internationalisation is one of these, aimed at creating a network of cultural and academic exchanges that enriches the educational and research experience. We value people and resources, recognising that our success depends on the talent and commitment of every member of the university community. Lastly, environmental sustainability lies at the heart of our initiatives, as we are committed to promoting sustainable practices that respect and protect our planet.
