The UniSMART Community, the network of the University of Padua, is enriched with new expertise thanks to the inclusion of Spritz Matter, a spin-off from the University of Padua specialising in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. This collaboration marks a significant step in the innovation ecosystem, strengthening the link between research and business, and transforming cybersecurity into a competitive advantage for companies and institutions.

The spin-off Spritz Matter originates from the experience of Mauro Conti, a professor of Computer Science at the University of Padua and coordinator of the SPRITZ Security & Privacy Research Group. Spritz Matter is renowned for developing advanced solutions in various areas of cybersecurity. Their expertise ranges from penetration testing to phishing protection, from vulnerability assessment to the security of industrial systems—fundamental solutions to support organisations in complying with new European regulations, such as the NIS2 directive and the AI Act.

The first joint initiative between UniSMART and Spritz Matter is already online: a free questionnaire to assess the level of maturity in cybersecurity and compliance with the NIS2 directive. This tool is a valuable opportunity for companies wishing to improve their cybersecurity and align with the latest regulations.

With this new addition, UniSMART confirms its commitment to creating connections between the world of research and businesses.
