Move Active Games, the free app to train with the Olympic spirit
04.02.2026
The Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics become a real opportunity to get moving, train, and take care of your health. This is the goal of MOVE Active Games, the new free app developed by MOVE Srl, a spin-off of the University of Padua.
The app allows users to follow the Olympic and Paralympic events in a simple and interactive way, discovering rules and curiosities of winter sports, but above all it invites users to become protagonists: through workouts inspired by Olympic disciplines, with guided exercises and videos that can be accessed at home without equipment.
From biathlon to curling, from bobsleigh to Nordic combined, each sport is paired with mini-programmes designed to improve strength, endurance, and coordination. The content is created and validated by kinesiologists and doctors from the Department of Medicine at the University of Padua, ensuring safety and scientific solidity.
A gamification system with shared medals and leaderboards makes the experience engaging and motivating, rewarding consistency and physical activity. The app also features sections dedicated to health, prevention, and active lifestyles, with scientific contributions developed in collaboration with national medical entities and societies.
"Our app also integrates a gamification system, with a shared medal table that rewards continuity, minutes of physical activity, and calories burned: the more you move, the more medals you earn, making the experience social and motivating," explains Marco Vecchiato, sports doctor, lecturer at the University of Padua and co-administrator of MOVE Srl, a role shared with Nicola Borasio, sports doctor and PhD student at DIMED. "A specific section is dedicated to health and the promotion of an active lifestyle, with scientific content on physical activity, nutrition, prevention, and well-being, created by experts from our University, in collaboration with Exercise is Medicine Italy, the Italian Society of Mountain Medicine, and No T To Lose, a project coordinated by Prof. Andrea Garolla, born from the collaboration between specialists from the Azienda Ospedale-Università Padova and the Veneto Region."
MOVE Active Games aims to transform the Olympic event into a lever for well-being, inclusion, and daily participation, involving everyone well beyond the days of the Games.
