L'amore finisce dove finisce l’erba. Dopo Vaia, il bostrico tipografo
24.11.2025
Due to the notorious Vaia storm, the millions of fallen trees triggered the proliferation of the spruce bark beetle—an indigenous insect that has become a scourge. This context is the starting point for Silvia Canton’s artistic research and experimentation, which focuses on reclaiming wind-felled wood and infested bark.
This is the origin of the solo exhibition Silvia Canton. Love Ends Where the Grass Ends. After Vaia, the Spruce Bark Beetle, curated by Martina Cavallarin with Antonio Caruso and organized by Techne Art Service A.p.s. The exhibition takes place in the Sala del Camino at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice, from November 30, 2025, to January 3, 2026 (Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.).
The exhibition is also sponsored by the University of Padua and its departments of Agronomy, Animals, Food, Natural Resources and the Environment (DAFNAE) and Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry (TESAF).
