Fighting for Freedom, Resisting in Padua: Egidio Meneghetti, the University, the City

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the awarding of the Gold Medal for Military Valour to the University of Padua for its commitment to the Resistance, the Centre for the History of Resistance and Contemporary Age (Casrec) invites you to the inauguration of the exhibition: Fighting for Freedom, Resisting in Padua: Egidio Meneghetti, the University, the City on 19 November at Palazzo del Bo.
The event will begin with institutional greetings from Daniela Mapelli, Rector of the University of Padua, Monica Salvatori, Vice-Rector for Artistic, Historical and Cultural Heritage, and Giulia Albanese, Vice-President of the Ferruccio Parri National Institute, followed by a musical performance by Corollario, the choir of students from the University of Padua.
Filippo Focardi, Director of Casrec, will then introduce a presentation by Silvia Madotto from Freie Universität Berlin titled Liberating Padua, Liberating Europe: the Role of Universities in the Fight Against Nazifascism.
The guided tour of the exhibition will be conducted by Eloisa Betti from the University of Padua.
On this occasion, the exhibition catalogue edited by Eloisa Betti and Filippo Focardi will be presented to the public.
The exhibition is held at the Cortile Antico of Palazzo del Bo in Padua and is open to the public until 18 December 2025 (excluding Sundays and public holidays) with the possibility of organising online guided tours for groups of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 people.
