Imagine all the people. From Perugia to Assisi for Peace
08.09.2025
This year as well, the University of Padua is taking part in the Perugia–Assisi Peace and Fraternity March, promoted by the PerugiAssisi Foundation for a Culture of Peace, in collaboration with the National Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights and the National Network of Schools for Peace, on Sunday, October 12.
The theme of the march, “Imagine all the people”, is an invitation to imagine a supportive, fair, and inclusive society where people can live together in peace, and where individualism, violence, and the increasing militarization that characterize today’s society no longer have a place.
The University’s Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” is organizing two free buses for students, civil service volunteers, and the University’s teaching and administrative staff. Departure is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, October 11, to attend in the afternoon the closing event of the People’s United Nations Assembly in Perugia.
The full march, scheduled for Sunday, October 12, covers about 24 kilometers, with arrival at the Rocca Maggiore in Assisi around 3:00 p.m. Return to Padua is expected by 11:00 p.m.
To reserve a spot, registration must be completed by September 25, 2025.
All registered participants will receive an email with useful information about joining the March and an invitation to take part in the preparatory meeting, which will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Human Rights Centre Library, Via Beato Pellegrino 28.
