Scholarships, full coverage by Unipd: for 2024/2025 all eligible beneficiaries. Allocation of over 56 million euros for the 11,452 eligible persons.
More than 4,000 freshmen beneficiaries: 7.4 million euros from the university to ensure complete disbursement.
Antonio Parbonetti: "We confirm our commitment and utmost attention to the right to education. We continue to build an increasingly inclusive and fair university."
Full coverage for all students who meet the requirements to obtain a scholarship. For the 2024/2025 academic year, thanks to the economic integration provided by the university, 7.4 million euros, the disbursement of all scholarships to the 11,452 eligible persons has been ensured. Therefore, there will be no eligible non-beneficiary figure.
"We are very satisfied to have managed to ensure the economic coverage of their scholarships for beneficiary students - says Antonio Parbonetti, deputy rector of the University of Padua. We once again confirm our commitment and utmost attention to the right to education for the student body. This attention is fundamental to continue building an increasingly fair and inclusive university. We must also emphasize, with a forward-looking perspective, that the over 11 million euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan - Pnrr were crucial to achieving this result. Funds that, as we know, will no longer be disbursed from next year. As a university, therefore, we hope that the state will identify new ways to contribute to making the right to education effective for students."
The total allocation for scholarships exceeds 56 million euros, including, as mentioned, the University of Padua's funding (7.4 million euros), and the increased contribution from the Veneto Region (about 20 million euros). Of the 11,452 eligible persons, 4,106 are freshmen, and 7,346 are students enrolled in years beyond the first.
