On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11, 2025), the University of Padua and the Advanced Biomedical Research Foundation - Vimm are promoting the seventh edition of the Women in Science event to discuss the contributions of women in laboratories, departments, institutions, and enterprises. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 11, at the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua.
February 11 is a day dedicated to celebrating the women and girls who champion knowledge and innovation; on this day, people around the world are called to act to remove any barriers that hinder their personal and social fulfillment. It is a moment that promotes change, encourages awareness, and emphasizes the role and importance of women in the extraordinary world of science.
The meeting, moderated by writer and journalist Francesco Chiamulera, artistic director of “Una Montagna di Libri,” will begin with institutional greetings from Daniela Mapelli, Rector of the University of Padua, and Nicola Elvassore, Scientific Director of Vimm.
Following this, some prominent women in the fields of science and innovation will share their experiences and opinions during a roundtable discussion. The closing address of the meeting will be delivered by Giustina Destro, President of the Advanced Biomedical Research Foundation.
