Webinar "Intercultural Regions: Active Participation & Social Inclusion"

16.02.2021

The Assembly of European Regions (AER), together with the International Organization for Migrations (IOM) and the Council of Europe are promoting the Include-EU project which aims to build more inclusive societies by enhancing knowledge and stimulating cooperation between local and regional authorities in the European Union.

In the framework of the Include-EU project, the webinar ‘Intercultural regions: Active Participation & Social Inclusion” will take place on February 16th  (h. 10). During the webinar, the ‘Mentorship Project’, organized and promoted by the International Organization for Migrations and 10 Italian Universities, will be presented as a best practice in the process of fostering intercultural interaction and inclusion among international students and the local communities. The project itself aims to create a network of inclusive universities committed to developing new institutional strategies and promoting interculture, by means of students’ participation. In this context, student “mentors” play a key role to support the development of effective initiatives which in turn are needed to promote international students inclusion in the local community but, most importantly, to give them a starring role in the construction of a responsible society.

Elena Tubertini, student of Community Psychology, Well Being Promotion and Social Change, acting as Tutor & Team Coordinator of the ‘Mentorship project’ will outline the project implementation and results at the University of Padua.

The best practices shared during the project will shape a toolkit that will be made available to any university for creating or enhancing mentorship schemes, intercultural communication and social inclusion.

The participation to the webinar is open prior registration.
