Voting in Padua as a "non-resident" for the June referendum, or by post as Erasmus

Italian version

18.04.2025

Voting for the abrogative referendum on 5 questions is scheduled for Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June.

Students, as well as teachers, staff, and all individuals temporarily domiciled in Padua (and therefore residing in another municipality) for a period of at least 3 months for study, work, or medical reasons, can request to vote in Padua. To do so, it is necessary to submit an application by Sunday 4 May: all information is available on the website of the Municipality of Padua.

Those who are abroad for at least 3 months for work, study, or medical reasons, such as those on Erasmus, and who wish to vote without returning home, can do so by post. In this case, they must apply by Wednesday 7 May.

Additionally, for citizens registered in the electoral lists of the Municipality of Padua who meet the eligibility requirements, these elections can also be an opportunity for engagement and participation, for which compensation is provided: it is possible to request to be enrolled in the register of eligible persons for the role of polling station scrutineer or president. While normally one needs to enroll by October and November to do this, "urgent" appointments are also foreseen, for which one can offer their availability.
