Veneto contemporanea, the OPV festival dedicated to Italian contemporary composers

With the title Eterni ritorni, the Fondazione Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto announces the third edition of Veneto contemporanea, the OPV Festival dedicated to contemporary Italian composers.

From 15 April to 20 May, in the Sala dei Giganti, with a special event in the Botanical Gardenfive appointments between music and dissemination on the 50th anniversary of the death of the Venetian composer Gian Francesco Malipiero.
A special price ticket is reserved for Unipd students: only 1 euro (concert in the Botanical Garden excluded).

Events:
Saturday 15 April, at 8.45 p.m. in the Sala dei Giganti, Malipiero's orchestral reinterpretation of Antonio Vivaldi's instrumental catalogue.

Friday 28 April at 8.45 p.m. the Sala dei Giganti will welcome Hans Zender's orchestration of the first six songs contained in Schubert's collection Winterreise.

Sunday 30 April at the Botanical Garden, repeated in three shifts (at 18.30; 19.15 and 20.00), the strings of the Padua and Veneto Orchestra conducted by Marco Angius will be divided into four Quartets for the performance of Parsifal Vorspiel.

Friday 5 May,  at 8.45 p.m. in the Sala dei Giganti, there will be the performance of another cycle of songs, Mahler's Fünf Frühe Lieder in the orchestration of Luciano Berio. Friday 20 May at 8.45 p.m. in the Sala dei Giganti a concert dedicated to the celebration of Malipiero's anniversary conducted by Alessandro Cadario.
