The University of Padua Hospital among the Top 100 Hospitals in the World

The University of Padua Hospital (Azienda Ospedaliera di Padova) ranks no. 92 in the Global Top 250 list of the world’s best hospitals and no. 6 among all Italian hospitals. Drawn up by the American news magazine Newsweek, the annual ranking is put together with data collected by Statista Inc. evaluates the world’s best hospitals based on various indicators.

Scores were calculated for each hospital based on three categories of criteria: Peer recommendations by invited doctors, hospital managers, and healthcare professionals were asked to participate in the survey from their own country as well as in other countries. (Recommendations for own hospital were not allowed); Results from patient experience surveys; Medical key performance indicators (KPIs) that include quality of specific treatments, hygiene measures and patient safety, and data on the number of patients per doctor and per nurse.

The 2022 ranking of the World's Best Hospitals examinedover 2,200 hospitals in 27 countries including, The United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, Netherlands, Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Israel, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Colombia.

According to the ranking, the quality of Italy’s overall health care remains among the best in the world, despite the challenges faced due to CoVid, 10 Italian hospitals rank within the top 150 best hospitals in the world.
