27.04.2022

The University of Padua ranks in second place among all Italian universities (after Sapienza University of Rome) and in 170th place globally according to the international rankings published by the Center for World University Rankings – CWUR 2022/2023.

This year, CWUR ranked 19,788 institutions. Those that placed at the top made the Global 2000 list, which includes 66 Italian institutions.

The ranking drawn up by the CWUR examines a series of seven indicators, some of which focus on the quality of education and employability (profession success of alumni). The University of Padua reaches significant improvement in employability rates of its alumni, which quantifies the professional success and measures those who have held top positions at major companies relative to the university's size.

The university’s standing is similar to last year regarding the quality of education, which measures the academic success of the university’s alumni and the number of former students who have won prestigious academic distinctions. Finally, the consolidated ranking relative to research, like many other rankings, measures scientific productivity, citations and publications in prestigious journals.
