Unipd’s Department of Economics and Management achieves the Equis accreditation

16.10.2023

The globally recognized accreditation body Equis places the University of Padua Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" on par with some of the world’s most prestigious business schools in terms of its degree of internationalization, quality of teaching, student services, research, and networking impact within the professional marketplace.

Recognized for only 1% of Business Schools in management training, Equis bases its accreditation on a dossier of over one hundred pages and on-site visits that evaluates a department's ability to attract students and teachers from all over the world. The Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" is a part of a world that offers a dynamic academic community, which is attentive to social and environmental issues and connected to a global professional marketplace.

“Achieving the Equis accreditation - says the Head of the Department, Prof. Paola Valbonesi - provided us with the opportunity to evaluate our Department against international benchmarks of excellence. This recognition acknowledges the high quality and professional relevance of our education programs and research endeavours and motivates all members of the Department to keep working together to pursue excellence in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer to society".

Such evaluation elements on which the Department has excelled for over thirty years, as also confirmed by the recent PNRR competitive funding, MUR Excellence, and the Censis ranking.

The EQUIS accreditation places the "Marco Fanno" Department within an international system that will allow it to increase the attractiveness of high quality faculty and students from all over the world. The department will continue to focus on expanding its international professional and academic outreach that provides personal and professional development for students and graduates.

“EQUIS accreditation is a guarantee of quality for the department - says the Associate Dean for Accreditation, Prof. Giacomo Boesso - and it will allow us to continue to offer high education that is research-driven and committed to addressing key societal challenges, with a specific focus on sustainable models and practices that create an impact beyond academia.”
