Unipd offers additional financial support for doctoral students during maternity leave

Using its own funds, the University of Padua will offer additional financial support for doctoral students, beyond which is paid by INPS, who will begin their compulsory maternity leave starting from 1 October 2023.

The additional support guarantees an amount equivalent to a borsa di dottorato that includes a similar tax and social security treatment.

The Board of Governors of the University of Padua approved this action in its meeting of 18 July 2023, within the framework of gender policies and with broader reference to the principles contained in the European Charter for Researchers.

The provision is structured similarly to what currently occurs for research fellows.
