Unipd: four scholarships reserved for Palestinian students
09.05.2025
It is called IUPALS – Italian Universities for Palestinian Students, and it is an initiative created by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), and the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem.
The project offers 97 scholarships, each worth approximately €12,000 per year, made available by 35 Italian universities, and reserved for Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian Territories.
The University of Padua, as part of this project, is offering 4 scholarships.
IUPALS is part of the commitments made by the Italian university system following the CRUI Assembly of May 2024. On that occasion, university rectors reaffirmed the urgency of achieving lasting peace in the Middle East and emphasized the crucial role of universities in fostering openness, dialogue, deeper understanding, and the pursuit of peaceful coexistence.
Interested students can find specific scholarship calls on the websites of the 35 participating universities and are encouraged to enroll in a preparatory course in Italian language and culture prior to academic enrollment.
