Summer 2024 at Unipd

02.08.2024

With the conclusion of summer exams, there are no teaching activities from Monday 5 August to Saturday 17 August. The academic calendar offers a make-up exam session between 19 August and 21 September.

All University central administration offices are closed from 5 to 20 August 2024. The summer closure includes the offices of the Teaching and Student Services area, the Callcentre services (049 827 3131), and the URP. The Booking Centre for the University's cultural and museum sites will remain active (049827.3939) daily from 9 am to 5 pm. Please refer to the respective websites for opening hours and closures of departments, libraries, decentralized offices, and other University structures.

Palazzo Bo remains open Monday to Friday for guided tours of its Historical Tours. The Palazzo Bo and the 20th Century by Gio Ponti tour remains active on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 3 August to 1 September. On weekends and on the days when the University is closed, the 20th Century tour is offered in English, rather than in Italian.

The Botanical Garden remains open all summer, from 10 am to 7 pm (last admission at 6:15 pm), from Tuesday to Sunday, and all holidays. The Botanical Garden offers an enriched series of summer events to experience the lush green spaces and collections that recount the secrets of the plant world. Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit the greenhouses in the summer, as they remain closed for maintenance.

The Unipd Store at the Botanical Garden follows the opening hours and days of the Garden (closed only on Mondays). The Unipd Store in Palazzo Bo is closed from 12 to 25 August, while the shop via San Francesco remains temporarily closed.

Several Unipd Museums are open to the public, with special events and tours, in many cases free. With engaging, multimedia, and interactive displays, the new Museum of Nature and Humankind continues to welcome visitors during the summer months by narrating the evolution of planet Earth, its diversity, and the relationships between humans and the environment.

The summertime headquarters of the University of Padua in Bressanone offers courses and events from June to September, while the Astronomical Center of Asiago offers a busy program of activities for families from July 26 to August 29.

The historic garden of Villa Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto is open to visitors throughout the summer on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Group tours are welcome on Fridays by reservation only.

The University and the city of Padua offer several summer events including Notturni Padovani, which leads to the discovery of many Unipd treasures by night. Enjoy or revisit the Sala dei Giganti, Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, Enrico Bernardi Museum of Machines, Museum of the History of Physics, Museum of Geography, Museum of Nature and Humankind, as well as the Botanical Garden and the Human Anatomy complex.

In addition, from August 1 to 31, people residing in the province of Padua and students of the University of Padua can have free access to some of the most important municipal sites: Museo Eremitani, Palazzo Zuckermann, Palazzo della Ragione, and Museo del Risorgimento e dell'Età Contemporanea. Excluded from the initiative are the Scrovegni Chapel and exhibitions with Siae tickets.
