The Student Tribunal celebrates February 8
06.02.2026
As every year, for the Student Tribunal and the Padovan goliardia, as well as for the entire University of Padua, February 8 is a special day. We remember the heroism, sacrifice, and commitment of the students of the University of Padua who, in 1848, became the protagonists of the struggle against the foreign regime, thus marking a true season of renewal.
This day has been symbolically adopted by the Tribunal for the election of the new Tribune, who this year will celebrate the 8th of February 804 B.C. (a Bove condito).
The Tribunal announced the program of celebrations on social media, which will begin on Saturday, February 7 at 11 AM with the 69th anniversary celebrations of Bar da Mario at the Bo. On February 8, the goliards will gather, and the appointments will be announced: at noon, the new "Tribune of the Venetian People, leader of Istria and Dalmatia" will be elected, taking the place of the outgoing Galileus Polemicus Bovis X.
In the afternoon, the commemoration of the fallen of 1848 will take place in the White Hall of the Gran Caffè Pedrocchi. Following this, the Polifonica Vitaliano Lenguazza will perform at Palazzo Moroni.
