The 2024 edition of Science4All Festival in Padua offers a series of events aimed at communicating science in a simple, engaging, and entertaining way by welcoming audiences of all ages to learn more about how scientific knowledge plays a central role in our community.

The 2024 Festival begins on Thursday 26 September in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Bo with the conference entitled The Scientific Legacy of Giuseppe ‘Bepi’ Colombo, which welcomes the participation of astronauts Franco Malerba and Umberto Guidoni, followed by an evening event in the Sala dei Giganti entitled Bepi Colombo, Star Catcher.

In celebration of European Researchers’ Night, a performance by Teatro dell’Orsa takes place at the Sala dei Giganti (Palazzo Liviano) on Friday 27 September. The theatrical performance entitled, Girls Will Save the World, shares the passionate tale of the women and girls who have dedicated their lives to planet Earth while ensuring the right to live in a healthy environment of all who inhabitant it.

On Saturday 28 September (10 am - 7 pm) and Sunday 29 September (10 am - 2 pm) researchers from the University of Padua along with partner institutions welcome the public to experience science in an engaging and fun way. Take a stroll down the Boulevard delle Scienze, to take part in more than 160 interactive activities. Extending from the Botanical Garden to the new Museum of Nature and Humankind, various workshops, scientific experiments, games, tournaments, quizzes, scientific talks, animated readings, as well as scientific cafésescape rooms, and guided tours pass through Palazzo Bo, Palazzo Moroni, and the pedestrian walkway in the heart of Padua.

Among new features for 2024, include the installation of the Space Village, which beyond its various interactive activities offers visitors the opportunity to enter the ExoSpaceHab-X module and take part in an installation featuring the engineering model of the tethered satellite from the Space Shuttle's TSS-1 Tethered Satellite System mission.

The Museum of Nature and Mankind will remain open until 7 p.m. on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September, with a special reduced ticket price, as for the Botanical Garden (6 euros for adultsfree for children and those up to 25 years of age), which includes participation in the activities. The activities in the courtyard are free to participate.

The 2024 Science4All Festival concludes on Sunday 29 September with a performance curated by the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies of The Rise and Fall of Oedipus the Bourgeois, from La Machine Infernale by Jean Cocteau.
