People at Risk. Unipd allocates 200,000 euros in scholarships for Palestinian students and scholars
29.05.2024
Following the motion placed upon the Academic Senate of the University of Padua on 14 May, regarding the Gaza Strip conflict, the Board of Directors has allocated 200,000 euros to support scholars and students of Palestinian universities affected by the recent conflict.
Integrated within the current "People at Risk" program, the University of Padua is dedicated to supporting the academic careers of those compromised by crises.
Dispersed across various departments, the Unipd Scholars at Risk program, offering calls for research fellowships, will now include 60,000 euros to Palestinian scholars. Five new scholarships for the remaining 140,000 euros will be made available to Palestinian students eligible for refugee status, thus facilitating their academic path.
Mindful of those suffering from particular forms of difficulty, the University of Padua continues to undertake initiatives aimed at welcoming and supporting, not only refugees and asylum seekers but also those considered AT RISK due to situations that prevent them from enjoying the freedom of study and conducting research in their home countries.
