On July 15, the Department of Biomedical Sciences (DSB) at the University of Padua will host a lecture by Yury Gogotsi (Drexel University, Philadelphia) titled 'MXenes: Materials of the Future — From Energy to Environmental and Biomedical Applications'. The lecture will delve into what he defines as the 'material of the future' with wide-ranging applications, from energy to environmental and biomedical fields."

The event will begin with institutional remarks from Prof. Rosario Rizzuto, Director of the Department of Biomedical Science, and Lucia Gemma Delogu (University of Padua).

Following the lecture, a roundtable discussion will focus on research and grant opportunities related to MXenes in Europe and beyond.

Prof. Gogotsi, Distinguished University and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Professor of Material Science and Engineering at Drexel University and Director of the A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute (Philadelphia, USA), is the inventor of the two-dimensional materials MXenes and among the ten most cited scientists worldwide across all fields.
