M’Illumino di Meno 2025 goes fast and it’s fashionable!
14.02.2025
The University of Padua, as part of the UniPadova Sustainable actions, is once again participating in the "M'illumino di Meno" campaign, promoted by Caterpillar and Rai Radio 2. This XXI edition will take place over an entire week, starting from Sunday, February 16, 2025, the National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, until Friday, February 21.
Alongside hundreds of monuments and buildings across Italy, the lighting of Palazzo del Bo, the historic heart of the University, will be turned off on February 16 at around 6 PM. The initiatives will then continue throughout the week.
The focus of this new edition is on the enormous environmental impact associated with fast fashion. As a concrete gesture of awareness-raising, the University is organizing a swap party, an informal event where the entire university community can exchange their second-hand clothes and accessories, giving them a new life in line with the principles of reuse and circular economy.
The event will take place in the Student Hall of Palazzo del Bo on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Those who wish to participate by bringing their exchange items are invited to fill out the online participation form, indicating the quantity (max 4 items) and type of garments they intend to bring, and must arrive at the event on the day at 2:30 PM.
Everyone is welcome to join the campaign along with the University by communicating further related initiatives to sostenibilita@unipd.it and tagging the Instagram page @unipadovasostenibile in their social content, thereby giving visibility to the university community's contribution to this occasion.
Participants in the initiative will also receive a voucher for the UNIPD Store, the University of Padua's merchandise shop.
