
The M’illumino di meno 2022 Campaign. Pedal, Revive, and Improve

Under the UniPadova Sustainable action plan, the University of Padua again participates in the annual M’illumino di meno 2022 Campaign as promoted by Caterpillar and Rai Radio 2 on Friday, March 11, 2022.
In addition to turning off lights, participants are encouraged to pedal, revive, and improve their lifestyles by wasting fewer resources. You can reduce the environmental impact of your homes through energy efficiency by switching to renewable energy sources.
Along with hundreds of monuments and buildings throughout Italy, the lights illuminating the historic Palazzo Bo, Palazzo Storione, and Palazzo Santo Stefano will shut off at 6:00 pm.
IMPROVE. The Vice-Rector for Sustainability and the Director General will share the University’s accomplishments in reducing its environmental impact and urban renewal projects through building renovations to improve the city.
REVIVE. The community learns more about the projects to revive the city’s green areas initiated by the 800th Anniversary list of programs to care for, protect, and restore Padua’s arboreal heritage.
At the end of 2021, the University of Padua chose to host the “Falcone Tree” Project at the Agripolis Campus to support the 50,000-tree planting initiative promoted by Caterpillar, Rai Radio2, and Rai for Social Issues. In collaboration with the , the initiative is part of a widespread “A Tree for the Future” reforestation project.
PEDAL. To pedal towards reducing its environmental impact, the University and Vice-Rector for Wellness and Sport plan a symbolic bike ride departing from Palazzo Bo on Friday, March 11 at 4.00 pm. The initiative welcomes participants from Scholares Vagentes: the European Relay that will cycle through some of Europe’s oldest universities in the spring of this year.
