HPCSIM25: Padua at the forefront of Innovation in high-performance computing

Italian version

22.07.2025

Organised by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and M3E, the annual workshop HPCSIM – Frontiers of High-Performance & Cloud Computing in Modelling and Simulation will take place in Padua on 11 and 12 September.

The increasing complexity of scientific and engineering applications demands ever more accurate and reliable numerical simulations. Challenges such as modelling complex systems and accounting for multiple scenarios make these problems highly computationally intensive. In this context, Machine Learning and Deep Learning approaches are emerging as promising tools alongside traditional PDE-based methods. To tackle large-scale simulations, it is essential to develop innovative algorithms capable of fully exploiting the potential of modern HPC systems.

The event, which is free of charge and open to all interested academic staff upon registration by 3 September, aims to serve as a meeting point for academics and professionals in the field, reinforcing the University of Padua’s leading role as a hub for technological innovation at the European level.

The workshop is part of the University’s activities linked to its participation in the ETP4HPC association, a key component of the European EuroHPC JU partnership. In addition to ETP4HPC, the University of Padua is actively involved in numerous international research networks and partnerships.
