10.09.2024

Four Unipd athletes bring home medals from Paris 2024; fencer and law student Martina Favaretto, swimmer and neuroscience doctoral student Francesco Bettella, and  triathlete and molecular biology student Francesca Tarantello.

University of Padua rector Daniela Mapelli comments, “The thrilling adventure of the Olympic and Paralympic games in Paris has come to a conclusion, leaving behind unforgettable moments in the souls of many Italians. I am very happy that among these, four medals were won by athletes from our university. Olympic silver medalist, Martina Favaretto, achieved the great success after her first Olympic experience. Then, during the Paralympic Games, came the silver medal by Francesca Tarantello, another student of the University of Padua at her Olympic debut and the bronze and silver medals by our doctoral student Francesco Bettella, of the Olympics, who already brought home several medals but added more after this fourth round of participation. We cheered for them, we celebrated with them. On behalf of the entire university, we thank them for giving us such unforgettable moments.”
