Crisis management and crisis’ impact over national and international systems

The second edition of the International Politics & Security Spring School (IPSE) will be held online between May 24 and May 28. Organized by the University of Padua - Department of Political, Legal and International Studies (SPGI), this edition is dedicated to crisis management policies and approaches. Main topics include the impact of terrorism on international and national systems, mobility and security, as well as populism as a potential threat to democracy and the CoVid 19 pandemic.

Starting at 10:00 am on Monday, May 24 this first day of talks is open to the public with an institutional greeting by Vice Rector Alessandro Paccagnella. The morning session includes opening remarks by the Coordinator of the Spring School, Valentine Lomellini and a discussion on “The EU and Crisis Management” by keynote speaker Federica Mogherini. Mogherini is the Rector of the College of Europe and former Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The morning session will be broadcasted live from the University of Padua’s YouTube channel.

The afternoon session starts at 3 pm with a lecture by Bruce Hoffman from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University on “The War on Terror Twenty Years On”. Followed by an open debate, this afternoon session will be broadcasted live from the YouTube channel of the Department of Political Sciences, Law and International Studies.
