12.07.2023

Results from il Censis ranking for Italian universities confirms the University of Padua in second place, after Bologna and before La Sapienza in Rome, among mega-state universities (those with over 40,000 students).

With an overall score of 85.7 points, the University of Padua received high scores in all six parameters; facilities, student services, scholarships, internationalisation, postgraduate employability, and effectiveness of online communication and services. Achieving specific marks of excellence in the fields of internationalization at 93 points, effectiveness of online communication and services at 91 points, and scholarships at 90 points.

Now in its 23rd edition, il Censis ranks state and non-state  universities and divides them into set categories by size. The ranking combines points related to available facilities, student services, scholarships and other initiative in favour of students, level of internationalisation, effectiveness of online communication and services, and postgraduate employability. From this total, rankings are grouped under three-year degree courses, single-cycle courses, and two-year master's degrees according to student career progression and international reports.

With a student community of over 72,000 people, UniPD now offers 203 study courses in all disciplinary fields, including 10 new courses proposed for the a.y. 2023/2024. With over 5,000 international students, the offer of teaching and study courses entirely in English has also grown in recent years, demonstrating Padua’s continual attention to internationalisation.

Also important is the effort put forth in recent years related to scholarships that not only provides funding for Italian students but also young people from places in the world where the right to study is not always guaranteed.
