Biology graduates leave the classroom and move to the Piazza

On the morning of July 21, for the first time, a graduation ceremony for University of Padua students will take place outside in Piazza Eremitani amongst family, friends and the public. The Department of Biology initiated the idea of holding the award ceremony outside University perimeters alongside the city of Padua, for which the academic institution shares a close and rich cultural bond.

Rector Rosario Rizzuto and Department Director Luigi Bubacco will offer their institutional greetings, while Professor Telmo Pievani addresses new graduates with an opening speech followed by the conferring of degrees.

Recent University graduates will enjoy a congratulatory musical arrangement performed by the Cesare Pollini Conservatory, including an abridged version of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue" during the closing ceremony.

All those in attendance must adhere to social distancing measures.  In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the Auditorium of the Cesare Pollini Conservatory.
