The University of Padua is dedicated to promoting well-being, and eliminating discrimination, violence and gender-related stereotypes through institutional actions and cultural and training interventions. In November 2022, the initiatives proposed by the University to promote gender equality expanded with the inclusion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women which is celebrated on 25 November

The first student refugee arrives in Padua from Nigeria as part of the University Corridors for Refugees UNICORE Project, coordinated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The UNICORE project is promoted by 33 Italian universities with the support of UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, Gandhi Charity, Fondazione Lanza and other partners

Con il suo progetto COnNect, Cecilia Laterza, assegnista di ricerca presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria industriale dell'Università di Padova, è risultata vincitrice del prestigioso finanziamento europeo ERC nello schema Starting Grant, nell'ambito del programma quadro Horizon Europe (2021-2027)
